Long Term Care Plans

The Risk of You Needing Long-Term Care May Be Higher Than You Think

Forty percent of those aged 65 and over will enter a nursing home at some point in their lives and the average term of care is 4.3 years.

You May Have to Pay For The Care You Need Out Of Your Own Pocket

Neither Medicare nor private Medicare supplemental insurance will pay for most long-term care expenses. In fact, Medicare pays for only 4.4% of the nation's annual nursing home bill.

The High Cost of Long-Term Care Can Quickly Diminish Your Income and Assets

The average cost of a one-year nursing home stay is $45,000 and is steadily rising. In some regions, it can cost as much as $60,000.

How Long Would Your Savings Last If You Needed Prolonged Care?

Our various long-term care insurance plans can help you cover expenses and help safeguard your financial security. You can receive up to $200 per day - $6,000 per month - for all levels of nursing home care, or if you prefer, care in your own home, depending on the coverage you select. You can also select benefits payable for a lifetime.

We market long-term care coverage underwritten by several different companies, including Mutual of Omaha, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, MedAmerica and John Hancock. We try to find the best policy for each client based on needs, health history, etc. If you don't already own this valuable protection, we urge you to consider it carefully.

* Premiums for this coverage are based on age, so the rate for those aged 64 is less than the rate for those aged 65. Minnesota now gives a tax credit - $100 per person, $200 per couple for residents who have coverage.
